Ocean Hills Golf Course – by Gary Harmon

The golf course is the sixth most popular amenity in OHCC.  Guest must be accompanied by a resident when using the Golf Course or practice areas.  Residents and guest may play golf on the Ocean Hills Golf Course or use any of the practice areas such as the practice putting green, chipping green, or hitting box.  For safety, no spectators, children under ten, pedestrians, or pets are allowed on the Golf Course or practice areas at any time.   To have a group larger than a foursome, you must be accompanied by a Recreation Department sponsored instructor.   The beautiful Ocean Hills Country Club Golf Course is an 18 hole executive course.   Most of the holes are par 3’s, but there is one par 4 over 240 yards.  The grounds keepers do a great job keeping the course in shape.

Regular golf carts are not allowed on the course.  This is to encourage everyone to be healthy and get lots of helpful exercise.  If you have a physical disability, you can have a single rider golf cart on the Ocean Hills course with a note from your doctor.  Practice of any kind must be limited to the designated practice areas.  Practicing on the Ocean Hills course, other than hitting two balls, is prohibited. Residence who buy a home backing to the course may play from their home rather than starting at the first tee.

The golf course usually opens at 7:30 a.m. unless closed for bad weather or maintenance.  Occasionally, Golf Club Tournaments may change this time.  If the course is closed for any reason, signs will be posted at the entrance to the Clubhouse parking lot and on the first tee.
