Open Houses

Ocean Hills Country Club open houses are usually held on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00.  You can see which homes that will be open on any given Sunday, by selecting “This Sunday’s Open Houses.”  All Ocean Hills homes for sale are listed and Ocean Hills open houses are marked in red. 

Going to an Ocean Hills open house is one way to see Ocean Hills homes, but not really the best way.  For example, 10 homes may be for sale and only one home may be an open house.  The Realtor holding the open house must stay at the home and is not free to show you all the great things Ocean Hills has to offer.  You will not be allowed to “just drive around” and will be expected to leave after your open house visit.

The best way to see Ocean Hills Country Club is by scheduling a free personal tour with Gary Harmon, your Seniors Real Estate Specialist.  Gary will show you the main clubhouse and all the amenities available in Ocean Hills.  The most important thing about a personal tour of Ocean Hills, is you have time to ask Gary questions about all matters relating to Ocean Hills home.  You will leave with an appreciation of Ocean Hills, and enough knowledge to know if “Ocean Hills Country Club” is the place for your retirement years.

Driveway Parking Permitted

The basic rule for parking in Ocean Hills at night is you must be in your garage or breezeway. Basically, you cannot use your garage parking spots for storage and then ask for permission to use your driveway or street. This rule is reflected in the Ocean Hills Country Club CC&Rs and Rules and Regulations. This rule is monitored by the Ocean Hills Community Patrol Service and the Citation Review Committee.

A recent Ocean Hills buyer ask me what you can do if you have three cars. The answer is, if you register three cars in Ocean Hills, one car will be allowed in the driveway at night. No permit is required and the Ocean Hills Community Patrol will be aware that you have a third car.

A permit is required to park in your driveway if you only have two registered cars and you would like to park one of them in the driveway. You can get such a permit up to 30 days for moving in or out of your Ocean Hills home, construction, or for a registered guest. This type of permit comes from the Community Patrol Services.

Reverse Mortgage Specialist

When I come in contact with something that I think can help Ocean Hills Country Club buyers or other seniors, I just have to share. A purchase reverse mortgage is one of these things, and Owen Coyle is a great person to explain how it works.

Here is Owen Coyle’s bio in his own words:

“I’m Owen Coyle, a 79 year young “Seasoned Citizen” living in Escondido California.

As of April 1, 2015, I’m starting my 11th year as a Reverse Mortgage Specialist.
I have no desire to retire, so as long my health remains good, I’m planning on
setting up reverse mortgages for at least the next ten (10) years to age 90!!!

I absolutely have a passion for working with senior home owners, improving their
“Quality of Life” and giving them “Peace of Mind” by setting up reverse mortgages
for them.

A reverse mortgage is not for every senior, but when “it fits”, it can absolutely change their
life for the better.  When I meet with the seniors, I always suggest that they include as
many of their children as possible in our meetings.  I always want to have the entire family
“On The Same Page” and understand how the reverse mortgage will benefit their parents –
based on their particular situation.

Most reverse mortgage companies do business by using the telephone, email or U.S. Mail
and use a notary to take care of the reverse mortgage “Application” & “Closing Documents”.

I do business “The Old Fashion Way”.  I go to the senior’s home and sit down with them
and their children at their kitchen and talk to them “Face to Face”.  I make sure that I answer
all their questions and that the entire family understands how the program works.”

What does Notarized Actually Mean?

Notarized Documents

When you get a document that has been notarized, what does it actually mean?  It only means that the notary completing the certificate verifies only the identity of the individual who signed.  They do not verify the validity of the document to which it is attached.
